Former Chelsea player Oscar dreams of returning to club to play the end of his career there and retire
Oscar was one of the talented players under managers Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte but found game time hard under the latter and finally moved on to China in 2017

The former Chelsea winger was one of the most popular players in the squad and was technically gifted players too. Across 64 matches for Chelsea in the Premier League, he scored 9 goals and gave 12 assists. He moved to Shanghai SIPG in 2017 for a whopping sum of €60 million and the move was largely decried as people blamed as a money-grabber. Now the Brazilian has his heart set on a move back to Europe.

Oscar’s family grew up in poverty and he has said that he wanted to give his mother a good life

The Brazilian attacking midfielder was reported to have a weekly salary of €450,000 and to put that into perspective, players like Eden Hazard (£400,000 per week), Kylian Mbappe (€360,000 per week), Mohamed Salah (£200,000 per week) and Virgil van Dijk (£180,000 per week) earn lesser than him. The Chinese Super League teams are notorious for spending exorbitant amounts of money to land names like Andres Iniesta, Carlos Tevez, Hulk and Oscar as they seek to be looked at as an attractive venue for players. However new rules in 2020 laid a salary cap for foreign players and therefore Oscar will not be able to take home his annual salary of $25.8 million.

Oscar is currently contracted at the club until 2024 and will be 34 years of age by then. He revealed that former Chelsea teammates Willian and David Luiz had asked him to come to Arsenal to reunite with them and also stated that he wants to return to Europe before the end of his career. He recently stated that he wants to return to Chelsea and end his career there, but a move there is next to impossible as age is not in his side. By the end of his contract he will be 34 years of age and so Oscar will have to play exceptionally well for him to be noticed by Chelsea. But after 2018, the Brazilian hasn’t played good for Shanghai SIPG and so it could be said that a move is currently impossible for him.

Nevertheless no one knows what the future holds and therefore we can witness this strange reunion somehow.
