Former Mercedes teammates, Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas share a ‘heartwarming moment’ before Bahrain testing
Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas
The Bahrain pre-season testing has just begun and the F1 fans have got their first taste of some wholesome content courtesy of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas.
As per the TWITTER post of a Lewis Hamilton fan, the duo of Valtteri and Hamilton were seen sharing a nice laugh about something or probably just being happy after seeing each other.
Valtteri Bottas departed from the Mercedes team after the end of the last season but is still a popular guy among the Mercedes crew. Moreover, Lewis is also very fond of the Finland driver and rates him highly.
During the 2021 F1 season there was a lot of speculation regarding Valtteri’s future at the team and Lewis Hamilton himself said a couple of times that he wanted Valtteri to continue at the team. But ultimately the tough decision to remove Valtteri and to get George in place of him was made by their Team Principal Toto Wolff.
Valtteri in his five-year spell at the Mercedes team enjoyed a lot of success as he and Lewis showed what team spirit is all about by grabbing a consecutive five constructors title in their time together at the team.
During the off-season, Valtteri was given a grand send-off by the Mercedes team at their factory where both Lewis Hamilton and Toto Wolff were present to wish Valtteri all the best for his future.
Lewis Hamilton: Valtteri Bottas was the best teammate I ever had
Lewis Hamilton the 7-time world champion was last season asked to rate Valtteri and the brit in his blatant way said that Valtteri was the best teammate he ever had in his long F1 career.
Given that Lewis rates him so highly on and off the track, it was really nice to see both the drivers sharing a good laugh before the start of the Bahrain testing.
Ahead of the testing both looked in good spirits and this is what most of the F1 fans want, for people to stay close to each other no matter what has happened in the past.
Valtteri is driving for Alfa Romeo for the 2022 season and it is going to be interesting to see how both Lewis and Valtteri are going to perform for their respective teams during the three days of Bahrain testing.
