Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc have already shown what they can do on their respective challengers and we are just two races into the season. It looks like Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc are even after two rounds of trading blows. Max Verstappen might be 20 points behind in the driver’s championship but he definitely swung that momentum in his favor after getting the better off his arch rival in the Saudi Arabia GP.
This could be the season when Charles Leclerc might emerge as Max Verstappen’s major threat following a real slow to the season for Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes. Lewis Hamilton has looked so far off the pace that he might not be able to make the ground even after resolving the issues. Red Bull and Ferrari have definitely looked a notch up than its competitors and this fight could go down to the wire.
The bragging rights are up for grabs this time around with two youngsters who know each other inside out, taking the fight to each other. Both of them want to assert that dominance over the sport just like Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton. We can safely say that the duo is at par when it comes to talent. So, whoever keeps his composure in the crunch moments shall win the prize.
Max Verstappen seems to be the number 1 choice of Flavio Briatore over Charles Leclerc after his blistering performances last year
But Flavio Briatore prefers Max Verstappen over Charles Leclerc if he was given a chance to buy either of them for his team. The Italian businessman said, “I would buy Verstappen. He is the best driver in Formula 1 and we saw that already last year.”
“He has more experience this year. He fought for the World title and already won. But if I had the money, I would have bought both.”
“If the funds were available, I would partner both drivers, given their respective talent – but would opt for the Red Bull driver above all others, because he is the cream of the current crop in the sport.” As reported by planetf1.
Max Verstappen definitely has the edge keeping in mind that he has been involved in an epic rivalry with Lewis Hamilton. But it would utterly foolish to write off Charles Leclerc. This might go down to the wire just like last year.
