The Saudi Arabia Grand Prix has undoubtedly become the most controversial races of the 2021 season. From multiple restarts to Max Verstappen being handled a 5-second penalty to countless virtual safety stops, race fans witnessed Lewis Hamilton eventually managing to level himself on points with the Dutchman heading into the Abu Dhabi GP after clinching the race in Jeddah.

With both drivers being on 365.5 points heading into the last race, Verstappen maintains the numero uno spot as he has registered more wins in the 2021 season. However, with a 5-second penalty imposed, know what was opinionated by the ace Red Bull driver after finishing behind Hamilton.

“It was quite eventful. A lot of things happened that I don’t fully agree with but it is what it is. At least I tried to give it everything on track and was not sure the tyres were lasting to the end. It was good at the beginning of that last stint,” Verstappen said in his initial reaction.

“Nevertheless, it’s still second place.” On the moment Hamilton drove full into the rear of his RB16B, he said. “I slowed down. I wanted to pass him and drove on the right side of the track. He didn’t want to overtake me and then we hit each other. I don’t really understand what happened there.” 

“It’s going to be decided there. Hopefully, we’ll have a good weekend there but we’ll see.”
