Max Verstappen ‘Superior’ To Lewis Hamilton Says Former World Champion

Former World Champion Jacques Villeneuve feels that Max Verstappen will win the World Championship this season as he is ‘superior’ to his rival, Lewis Hamilton, and also makes lesser mistakes than the British driver. Both Lewis and Max are engaged in what is regarded as one of the most competitive seasons so far as even after 15 races, only two points separate the two of them.

Both of them have been in top-notch form ever since the season started, if one of them makes a mistake the other one does not fail to capitalize on it and score more points. But as they say, even the best make errors and so, Max and Lewis have committed some errors as well, but Jacques Villeneuve feels that Max Verstappen has made lesser mistakes than Lewis and that Verstappen has been better among the two. The pair has been given time penalties this year for colliding with each other, Lewis got a time penalty in Silverstone while Max got a grid penalty in Monza last weekend.

When asked about Max’s form and his competition for the World Championship this season, JV said, Verstappen is superior,” he told Corriere Della Sera. He further added that Max didn’t make any real mistakes, he always went on attack meanwhile, Lewis instead showed weakness.

Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes have dominated for a long time now and are now facing a real challenge for the Championship for the first time since 2016 when Lewis lost out to Nico Rosberg.

Talking about this, Villeneuve further added that due to this, Lewis may have eased out a bit due to the lack of competition in recent years and has been living an easy life since 2016 because there were no real challengers for the title. “Maybe he fell asleep a bit, this year he woke up with a start. But he remains a phenomenon.” said the former Canadian driver.
