Sebastian Vettel the former four-time F1 champion and current Aston Martin driver has recently given his opinion on the upcoming season of F1.

Sebastian believes that the upcoming season is going to highlight the sport “at its best” with a “very tight battle” between the teams. F1 is entering a new era on 18th March as the teams are going to reveal the true potential of their new machinery and remove the sandbags that the teams are known to carry during testing.

The Pre-Season testing brought with it a variety of new designs, however, the gap between the mid-field teams was minimal as compared to previous seasons. This could help the drivers in doing close-quarters racing which gets the fans on the edge of their seats.

while talking about the new venture Vettel said, “These new Formula One cars are so incredibly different to their predecessors.”

We’ve spent the past weeks learning as much about them as we can and I’m looking to racing a ground-effect car for the first time this weekend.”

Everything is new in Formula One and I think we’re looking at a very tight battle, and some very close gaps, between all the teams.”

There’s a lot to play for – and that’s F1 at its best.”

Last year, F1 announced an award for the driver who completes the maximum number of overtakes and the two veterans of the sport Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso were in the running for the award.

Sebastian Vettel was able to come out trumps as he managed to do an impressive 132 overtakes during the season and was four ahead of Fernando Alonso.

The Aston Martin F1 team was stuck at the back end of the mid-field battle last season and hence had the chance to get as many overtakes as possible.

After the end of the final race of the 2021 season, Vettel on the radio said, “What’s the prize? One million jelly beans?”

The sponsor of the award Crypto.com heard the wish of Vettel and on Wednesday presented the german with the reward.

Sebastian Vettel after receiving the reward said, “That’s a nice trophy actually,” joked Vettel, before questioning, “Is that a million though?

The Aston Martin team has had a pretty quiet pre-season testing and it seems they are again going to be seen in the midfield this season. If this is the case, then the fans can expect more overtakes from the experienced driver.
