Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton is looking to reclaim his World Championship crown after losing it to Red Bull’s Max Verstappen in a controversial end to the 2021 season. The Brit is widely regarded as one of the greatest racers to grace the Formula One grid. The 7-time World Champion has won 103 races 103 pole positions and 182 podium finishes across his career, the highest by a driver.

After the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton made no social media appearances which spread rumours that the Brit is retiring from the sport. The rumours were loud until his infamous “I’m back” post. After a much-deserved hiatus, the 7-time World Champion is back to claim his elusive 8th title.

The British driver has recently stated that he was under immense mental strain after the end of the last season. But after spending time with close family, he feels rejuvenated. This made him turn back to the sport for one more campaign.

Lewis Hamilton hopeful that tyres will improve

The Bahrain Grand Prix is scheduled for March 18-20 and will officially flag on the 23-race calendar. Ahead of the 2022 Formula One season opener in Bahrain, Lewis Hamilton tweeted his message to his fans and supporters about the journey he and his team have taken to get this far.

Hamilton tweeted, “So much has gone into getting back and being here both physically and spiritually. Me and the team @MercedesAMGF1 put in a lot of hard work and long hours, and we’re going to give it everything we can for you guys. Keep the positivity coming”

Lewis will be teaming up with rookie George Russell. Mercedes are preparing for another successful year and to lay claim to their 9th Consecutive Constructors title in the 2022 Formula One championship. The Silver Arrows will be hoping to begin their campaign with a win in the season opener. The racing resumes with Bahrain GP on March 18-20.
