Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton share a long history in Formula One together. Not only are the duo multiple-time world champions, but they were also part of the same team during Lewis Hamilton’s rookie years. Their relationship took a turn for the worse during Hamilton’s earlier years in F1, something which has not quite been mended yet.

In an interview prior to Christmas, Fernando Alonso opined on Lewis Hamilton’s personality over the past few years. The 40-year-old revealed that as time has progressed, Lewis has gotten worse and it seems that he has lost himself.

When the interview stated that the entirety of Spain hated Lewis Hamilton after the 2007 season, Fernando Alonso had his say on the subject. “During that time, he wasn’t too bad. He was a rookie,” Alonso recalled their time at McLaren. “He got worse with years. Now I see him a bit more lost. There’s always bad and good guys. That’s part of the sport,” Alonso added.

Fernando Alonso was asked if he has a good relationship with Lewis Hamilton currently, given that they are in their latter half of their careers and are the most respected drivers on the grid. Alonso stated that Hamilton does not have a relation with anyone on the grid, and prefers to keep himself isolated.

The Spaniard believes that Lewis Hamilton has caught himself in the world of fashion and wearing strange clothes. “Not much. He’s not having any relationship with anyone. He isolated himself in the last few years. He’s in the world of fashion, wearing strange clothes,” Alonso opined.

Lewis Hamilton is still recovering from the disappointment he suffered at the Abu Dhabi GP a few weeks ago, where he might feel that his title was snatched away from him. Despite Toto Wolff being unsure as to whether Hamilton will return to the grid in 2022, yet one can full expect the seven-time champion to come out and seek vengeance next year.
