Fernando Alonso comes with a surprising answer when asked about what ‘El Plan’

Fernando Alonso, two-time world champion returned to the F1 circuit once again, after a two year hiatus. The Spaniard drove for Alpine, alongside his French teammate, Esteban Ocon. There is no doubt with regards to the fact that Alonso is one of the most experienced drivers on the grid, and will go down as one of the best in history.

Fernando Alonso came up with the word ‘EL Plan’ this season, which has been doing the rounds. The word got so popular that Fernando Alonso also used ‘EL Plan’ on his wing for the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi.

Fernando Alonso himself does not knowing the real meaning behind using El Plan, and revealed that it was only through social media that he came across this word.

A part of El Plan is not to know exactly what El Plan is: Fernando Alonso

Fernando Alonso was recently asked about what he thinks of EL Plan. The 40-year-old racer stated that he does not know what exactly it means. He hilariously added that a part of EL Plan is maybe not knowing what exactly the plan is.

“I began to see it on social media, I honestly don’t know exactly what El Plan is. I probably shouldn’t say that… but maybe a part of El Plan is not to know exactly what El Plan is,” said Fernando Alonso.

Fernando Alonso had a great comeback season in 2021, and the Spaniard himself recognizes this year as his best in F1 since 2014. Alonso claimed his first podium finish in seven years, after finishing P3 in Qatar. Overall, Alonso ended up 10th in the drivers standings. However, he has stated that better things are about to come in the future, and 2021 was just a small trailer.
