Ferrari and McLaren are leading the charge to finish P3 in the constructors championship this year. Ferrari are currently placed third in championship, being 2 points ahead of McLaren.

Ferrari have a faster car as compared to McLaren, which helps them in the qualifying sessions. However, Lando Norris believes that Ferrari have been making more mistakes as compared to McLaren.

They are always making improvements, as are we, and we are trying to improve in every area,” said Norris.

They’ve been very quick on Saturdays. Charles has been on pole twice. But then they have made more mistakes and struggled more on Sundays. That is where we have gained some of it back and looked a bit stronger,” he added.

So trying to continue that with the points being on Sunday and not Saturday, that is good for us and coming into our favour, but as a car they generally have been quick in qualifying on Saturdays,” Norris continued.

Lando Norris’ performance helping McLaren to stay in touch with Ferrari

Lando Norris stated that his good performances over the season have helped McLaren to keep up with Ferrari. The Briton has scored points in all of the six races so far, and is currently fourth in the championship standings.

Lando Norris has also scored two podium finishes at Imola GP and Monte Carlo. He believes that his performances will reap dividends at the end of the season.

“It is good for me and us as a team,” he said. “Especially from where we are in the constructors’; we are very close with Ferrari, so these kinds of things add up at the end of the season,” said Norris.

“Even if it is one point or two points, it can still make a good difference, so it is good. I’m doing what I can. It depends, sometimes you want to take more risks and go for a better position. But also I feel like I have made good decisions to be on the safer side sometimes and not take too many risks,” the Briton continued.
