Sebastian Vettel was left without a seat last season, after Ferrari signed Carlos Sainz to replace him. However, Aston Martin came calling for Vettel and signed him up for the 2021 season. The German did not have a great start to the season, but has hit top form in the last two races.

The four time champion finished P5 at Monaco GP, followed by a P2 finish in Baku. Vettel stated that he does not regret not returning to Red Bull, and praised Sergio Perez. He believes that the Mexican deserves his chance at Red Bull, and has proven his worth in the last 10 years.

“No I don’t regret [not returning to Red Bull] and I don’t think it was an option,” Vettel explained.

“And in all honesty, and this I really mean from the heart, I’m very happy that Checo got a great seat because he deserves it. He’s shown it not just with a win but he’s shown it with the last 10 years or something like that, that he’s been in Formula 1, and he deserves to be in a great car,” he added.

Sebastian Vettel happy that Red Bull have a good car this year

Sebastian Vettel won four world titles during his stay at Red Bull. The German was delighted that Red Bull have a great car this season. Currently, Red Bull lead the championship by 26 points, whereas, Mercedes have failed to score points in the last two races.

“I’m happy that Red Bull have a great car for two reasons: one, I obviously know a big part of the team, but obviously for Checo that he gets to enjoy the fact that you go to a race and you know that you have a car that you can fight for the win with,” said Vettel.

Sebastian Vettel will hope to continue his good form at the French GP this week, as the German looks to secure his third consecutive points finish.
