2021 proved to be one of the historic years in F1 history. The sheer drama was unmatched and this season has set a huge benchmark for the years to come. Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton fought each other right until the end, as the Abu Dhabi GP was decided on the final lap of the race.

Although, the championship surely ended on a wrong and controversial note, yet the sport was able to garnish tons of new support in 2021. Eventually, Max Verstappen took home his first ever F1 title, as he stopped Lewis Hamilton from winning his record eighth title.

Toto Wolff and the entire Mercedes team were pretty disappointed with the FIA decision at the end of the Abu Dhabi GP, but they have seemed to put those things behind them and focus on 2022. On a concluding note, Wolff had a special message for the entire Mercedes family.

Toto Wolff wished all Mercedes fans a very Happy New Year as 2021 draws to a close. The Austrian boss highlighted that there were high and low points throughout the year, but that is how life works.

2021 is finished. There were some highs, there were some lows. There were some glorious moments, there was some drama, but again this is how it feels to be alive. So I wish you a Happy New Year’s eve and a happy 2022,” said Wolff.

Toto Wolff played his part in helping Mercedes claim their eighth consecutive constructors championship. As for the German team, Valtteri Bottas will be replaced by the youngster, George Russell in 2022. The Finnish driver had a successful spell at Mercedes where he won 10 races, and played a crucial role in the team’s domination in the hybrid era.
