‘Fury-Joshua, would be tremendous for everyone…We will absolutely support it’ – WBC President on a possible Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury bout

The two boxing heavyweights from Brit haven't fought against each other despite having more than 20 fights in their kitty

Tyson Fury

WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman says that he would do his best to make sure there is a Tyson Fury – Anthony Joshua showdown for the undisputed world champion.

Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua is something the combat sports community have been wanting to see, ever since both the Brits shot to the limelight. There were a lot of instances, where an Anthony Joshua – Tyson Fury bout was almost on the cards, but it never came to fruition. It took a further hit when Anthony Joshua shockingly lost to Andy Ruiz Jr. last year. Now, there is another obstacle in the form of Kubrat Pulev, who Joshua has to overcome when the two face-off on the 12th of December.

Speaking about this, Mauricio Sulaiman sounded confident that the ‘AJ-FURY‘ match would, and is destined to happen.

“Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder have some sort of mediation process going on and that’s the only thing” – WBC President

Anthony Joshua

Speaking to SkySports, Sulaiman said, “There’s absolutely great hope from the world to see that undisputed fight. Tyson Fury is our champion, our pride. Anthony Joshua holds the other belts and he has been a tremendous asset to the sport. A gentleman, a great career. To see this showdown, Fury-Joshua, would be tremendous for everyone in the sport of boxing. We will absolutely support it. The WBC has no blocks right now. There is no mandatory contender. There is an issue that we are aware that Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder have some sort of mediation process going on and that’s the only thing, but we don’t have any details.

He concluded saying, “We’re just hoping that everything gets resolved and everybody is happy and we see great fights inside the ring.”

Who wouldn’t want to see a bout between ‘AJ‘ and Fury! Who do you think will win?
