Inter has two games still remaining to play. They climbed up to second position over Atalanta with 76 points, four behind Juventus who host Sampdoria on Sunday. While Juventus has three games to go, could lock up the championship if they defeat Sampdoria.

In the previous few matchdays, Inter’s title quest has weakened after seeing some slip-ups. Inter’s boss Antonio Conte appreciated the commitment of his players though grieving at several of their performances.

Genoa remained 17th on the league table with 36 points. Genoa are four above the relegation line. While on Sunday Lecce, who are just below them, has a game in hand away from Bologna.

Romelu Lukaku ended the deadlock as he got clear of Cristian Zapata in the 34th minute. The Belgian headed in past Mattia Perin from a Cristiano Biraghi ‘s inch-perfect cross. Filip Jagiello hit the post minutes afterwards from a free kick as Genoa almost equalled.

Genoa managed to get a bit of foothold in the second half. However, once they approach the final third, the Griffins lost possession leading to a major of the second half goal-less.

Victor Moses skipped past a defender and with seven minutes remaining, his low cross met Sanchez. The Chilean International in turn netted it in from fairly near range with a thumping strike to make it 2-0.

Lukaku gathered a defensive pass, raced out, sliced a defender in and stuck the ball to the far corner to seal the score-line 3-0 at 90+4 in added time. Lukaku scored 23rd goal in his first campaign at Inter. This feat drew him past Diego Milito and Amedeo Amedei for the third-most goals scored in a debut campaign for Inter. Only Stefano Nyers (26) and Ronaldo (25) scored more in their maiden season in Serie A for the club.
