“Khabib is one of the scariest fighters,” says Georges St-Pierre on the possibility to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov

UFC Legend from Canada, Georges St-Pierre admits that he would still love to take on former lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov. The former two-division champ says that he would’ve jumped out of retirement for the fight against Nurmagomedov. GSP has previously come out of retirement after 4 years break in 2017 to take over the Middleweight belt.

The idea of the matchup between former welterweight and middleweight champion, GSP and undefeated lightweight king Khabib has been the most look forward to right now. Even the UFC boss, Dana White wait to hold on the retirement of Khabib for this fight. Dana spent almost a two months trying to get back Khabib for a super fight.

Khabib retired from fighting after his fight against Justin Gaethje and promised his mother that would be his last fight. Georges St-Pierre hasn’t fought in UFC since 2017. The MMA world wonders if this fight can actually be made a reality.

In his recent appearance on the Joe Rogan Podcast, Georges St-Pierre spoke about Khabib. “For me Khabib is one of the scariest because he’s beating you down, he’s not only beating you but he’s breaking you mentally and for me that is the scariest and he is the scariest guy pound for pound,” GSP said on the Joe Rogan Experience. “I would have come back for him.”

Georges St-Pierre says admitted that he was tempted to get back into the octagon and fight again. But he has been having doubts about it. In the Joe Rogan podcast he admitted that if it had to be someone it is Khabib who could’ve made him sign the contract. GSP is a legend with most Welterweight title defenses in the history. “It’s over now,” he added. “If Khabib wants me to fight, he needs to hide himself while I’m in the gym training.”

“I was in the gym hitting the pads with Freddie Roach and I hadn’t done it for so long because of Covid and everything in Montreal being closed, but I got my mechanics back and Freddie looked at me and was like, ‘Georges, you’ve got the itch back’ and I was like, ‘Ahh, stop saying that!’.” The Canadian has been dying to get back into the octagon but he gets the “Itch” only when he is training.

“If Dana White would walk in right now in the gym in between rounds I would sign the contract in a blink of an eye but then when I go back to Montreal to my home, in my comfort, and I would be like, ‘hell no!” he said in the podcast. Do you think there is a possibility of Khabib returning and fighting GSP?
