CEO Greg Norman said on LIV Golf‘s Twitter account on Friday that his golfers would be permitted to wear shorts beginning with the second round of the tournament outside of Boston on Saturday. We jest about the incentive, but shorts have been a subject of controversy in men’s golf for several years.
Women have worn shorts in competitions for decades, although men have been prohibited from doing so since, well, the days of Old Tom Morris. Having said that, it would appear that Paige Spiranac approves of the new dress code that has been implemented by the league.

Paige Spiranac is happy by the big change on attire by LIV Golf
“It can now be said. Shorts will be permitted for players competing on the LIV Tour beginning tomorrow “, Norman remarked. “This will be the first league and tour to officially begin.”
Both the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour require competitors to have trousers on when they are playing in tournaments. Spiranac disclosed on her Twitter account that she approves of the fact that LIV Golf now permits its players to play in shorts. Spiranac remarked that he thought it was cool that LIV golf permitted the men to play in shorts. “I certainly hope that the PGA Tour follows suit.”
The supporters of Paige Spiranac are not quite confident that the PGA Tour will act in the same manner. One of the fans said, “They can’t do that now. They will likely be accused of plagiarizing LIV’s work.”
Another follower chimed in with this response, “I guess it boils down to whether you’re a supporter of tradition or if you’re cool with change. I don’t care what the LIV decides to do; they’ll never be the PGA and they have no intention of being it.”
