Hitman & Indian Opener Rohit Sharma turned 33 on Thursday. In the recent past, the special day for the Mumbai Indians captain came as a breather amid the high-pressure situations in the T20 league. Currently, Rohit has placed himself at No.2 position with just 14 points behind Indian Captain Virat Kohli in the race for ICC ODI Batsman rankings.
However, in 2020, Rohit Sharma is celebrating his birthday not with his Mumbai Indians teammates but his family as the IPL 2020 season has been suspended until further notice due to the coronavirus pandemic. In the time away from the competitive action, Rohit has got a rare opportunity to celebrate his 33rd birthday at home, with wife Ritika Sajdeh and daughter Samaira.
Even International Cricket Council wishes Hitman, Happy Birthday Boy !
Rohit Sharma holds the record for the most sixes hit by an Indian player in a Test, ODI and T20I and 3rd most in international cricket with 423 sixes. While his 13 sixes vs South Africa in Vizag last year as an opener are the most by an Indian in Tests, Rohit also owns the corresponding ODI (16 vs Australia, Bengaluru 2013) and T20I (10 vs Sri Lanka Indore, 2017) records for the country.
To date, Rohit is the only player across the world to have hit 10 or more sixes in an international match across all the 3 formats. He is the only cricketer to score more than one ODI double-hundred in the history of cricket and He was also named as ODI Cricketer of the Year by International Cricket Council (ICC) in Jan. 2020.
How BCCI wish their ODI Vice Captain…
No total is beyond him neither is any game lost until he’s at the crease. Unfortunately this birthday, Hitman cannot be out on the park with the COVID-19 pandemic forcing almost the entire world to be in lockdown. Happy Birthday Rohit…
