Serena held her position as World No.1, from February 2013 until September 2016, the joint-longest mark anyone has recorded since the WTA rankings began. She’s tied with German legend Steffi Graf.

Serena wore a ‘Wakanda-inspired catsuit’ during the 2018 French Open. The skin-tight outfit suit was also designed to protect against blood clots.

She said the outfit made her feel like a warrior princess. Nevertheless, following the tournament, French Tennis Federation president Bernard Giudicelli introduced a new dress code, commenting, “I think that sometimes we’ve gone too far … One must respect the game and the place.”
