Kerala Blasters FC have revealed the acquisition of defender Harmanjot Khabra for the forthcoming Indian Super League (ISL) seasons, which would last until 2023. Khabra is among the handful of footballers in the ISL who has appeared in over 100 games. The dynamic defender has previously represented Bengaluru FC and Chennaiyin FC.

Kerala Blasters are happy to rope in the services of Khabra. Karolis Skinkys, the Sporting Director of the club expressed his joy by stating that Khabra’s experience will add a lot of value to the squad. Karolis also states that Khabra’s all-round ability to play at several positions will be a big positive for Kerala Blasters.

“Khabra is a player who can bring much-needed experience to our team. I believe that his profile was one of the major pieces we were missing. His passion, versatility, and leadership will be an immediate positive influence on our team,” said Karolis Skinkys.

Harmanjot Khabra has joined Kerala Blasters as the club’s fourth new acquisition this campaign, following Sanjeev Stalin, Hormipam Ruivah, and Vincy Barreto.

Khabra secured his first professional deal with Sporting Club de Goa in the I-League in 2006-07. He’s a dynamic defender who can also play in the midfield. Khabra, who began his journey at the Tata Football Academy as a teenager, has made over 200 games in Indian football, including the fourth-most appearances (102) in the ISL.

Khabra joined East Bengal ahead of the 2009-10 I-League season and made his continental debut in the 2010 AFC Cup.

He joined Chennaiyin FC in 2014 after seven productive seasons with East Bengal and moved on to serve an important part in the team that reached the semifinals in 2014 and won the title in 2015. He came to Bengaluru FC after three campaigns with Chennaiyin FC, where he played a crucial role in their ISL title win in 2018-19.
