“I’m feeling better” – Harmanpreet Kaur tests negative for COVID-19

Indian women’s T20 team skipper Harmanpreet Kaur has tested negative for COVID-19, over two weeks after testing positive for the virus following a series against South Africa. The 32-year-old was seen in action in the ODI series against South Africa where she had performed well in two matches out of the five, scoring a 40 and a half-century. However, she got injured subsequently and was unable to take part in the T20I series where Smriti Mandhana took over captaincy.
It was then that Harmanpreet confirmed that she had tested positive for the virus, on the 30th of March. The T20 skipper further stated that the symptoms were mild. She then self-isolated at home for the next two weeks and following a test taken recently, the result has turned out to be negative.
Further, it was revealed that it was not during the ODI series that Harmanpreet caught the virus but after. “She was getting tested regularly during the South Africa series so she must have caught the virus after that only,” a source close to her reportedly said, allaying concerns about other players potentially catching the virus as well.
