Cricketer Mohammad Shami’s distanced wife Hasin Jahan has filed a complaint with the cyber cell in Kolkata’s police headquarters. She complained that she allegedly started receiving death and rape threats from Islamists for sharing congratulatory messages on Ram temple Bhoomi Pujan in Ayodhya on her social media account.

“Congratulating all the Hindus for the Bhoomi Puja of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya,” she wrote in Hindi on her official Instagram handle.

“On August 5, Ram Mandir was rebuilt and therefore I congratulated all of my Hindu brothers and sisters on social media. But then some mean-minded Muslims commented on my post. They have given rape threats and even murder threats.” she was quoted as saying by India Today.

In her complaint, she has also attached screenshots of the comments and stated that she is feared and worried about her daughter. Jahan also stated that if the attacks on social media continue, she might even go into depression and is hoping for the officials to take quick action.

“Same people are continuously threatening me on raping and molesting also. In this situation, I am feeling helpless and worried about my daughter’s future also. This continuous attack through social media like Instagram, Facebook and Twitter make me jeopardized, please help me as I am feeling in secured every moment. If this continues I will be mentally depressed and dejected.” Jahan said.
