India sprinter, Hima Das and Badminton star Saina Nehwal had urged people to follow the appeal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to light candles, diyas or a mobile flashlight to fight the darkness spread by The Novel CoronaVirus COVID-19.
Hima took Twitter and said “Let’s stand together in the fight against coronavirus and express our solidarity by lightning lamps, candles, torches and mobile flashlight in our balconies or doorstep today at 9 pm for 9 minutes.
Whereas, Saina Nehwal posted a picture with a message that read, “Spread the light of hope. Let us stand united against COVID-19.”
In the video message shared by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the 2nd of April, he addressed to the citizens of India and appealed to turn off the lights of their houses at 9 pm and light candles, diyas, mobile flashlight for 9 minutes to defeat coronavirus. Earlier also on the day of Janata Curfew he has asked to beat Thali and Taali to thank the workers who indulge to protect the motherland.
The Novel Coronavirus ‘COVID-19’ was declared a Pandemic on 11 March 2020 by WHO. In India, the cases have increased to 3,374 and death has increased to 77 while 267 have been cured.
