Sources of Light

Smoke Signals

Campfires have a live fire on the top which emits small flame particles and smoke that goes up to the sky above. Players can extend the smoke height by placing a Hay Bale on the top upon which it becomes a Signal Fire.

Damage

Campfires can damage any mobs or even the players who get on top of the open flame. The only exceptions are the shulkers, zombified piglins and guardians.

Campfires deal 1 health damage per tick and also sets the player burning for 8 seconds. Soul Campfire also afflicts the burn damage but also does more damage, 2 health points per tick.

Cooking

To scare away Piglins

Players can set up Soul Campfires to scare away piglins that are not attacking.
