The Minecraft Caves and Cliffs updates has bought in some new and exciting new blocks that the players can either get or craft. Among them, the Amethyst and Copper materials are the most popular ones as they can make a wide variety of new items that didn’t exist in the game previously.
Down below we take a look at how to make Tinted Glass in Minecraft.
Tinted Glass in Minecraft
The Tinted Glass is a newly introduced block in the game that requires amethyst shards to make and blocks light.
This is also the first glass block that the players can break and get a drop. Glass in Minecraft usually shatters when broken and drops nothing.
The special feature of this new glass block is that it blocks light sources from the opposite side of it. Players can place a light source on the other side and no light will be produced on the other side.
However, this doesn’t mean that the glass block is opaque. It is completely transparent and players can see through its black surface. The light source is also visible but no light is emitted.
It is not a solid block and thus mobs can stay inside it without suffocating.
How to make Tinted Glass in Minecraft?
Players need to gather two items before making the Tinted Glass in Minecraft. These are:
- Amethyst Shard x4
- Glass x1
The Amethyst Shards can only be obtained from fully grown Amethyst Clusters that are found in the Overworld, underground. They need to be mined using a Iron Pickaxe or better.
Players can then combine the items in the following ways in the Crafting table to make a Tinted Glass in Minecraft.
