“I can’t see what Masvidal can do differently,” says Leon Edwards as he predicts no change in the result of the Usman-Masvidal fight

“I can’t see what Masvidal can do differently,” says Leon Edwards as he predicts no change in the result of the Usman-Masvidal fight

Leon Edwards recently was on the Joe Rogan podcast after his controversial ‘No contest’ match against Belal Muhammad. The fighter chimed in his predictions for the Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal fight taking place on UFC 261.

The English fighter believes that Masvidal does not offer much technique wise and will end up coming short against the current welterweight champion. In their previous bout, Masvidal lost to Usman in a challenge to capture the welterweight belt in UFC 251.

Leon Edwards spoke about this fight in his recent appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast. “It’ll be a good fight, I’ll be watching it for sure,” Edwards told Joe Rogan. “But if I had to put money on it, I would probably go Usman for the win again. I can’t see what (Masvidal) can do differently.”

“He’s going to come out again and do what he does, swing for the fences, and try to knock him out. Usman is going to have a high guard and just grapple him.” Edwards also thinks Jorge will not change his style. “I just can’t see what (Masvidal) does different. Unless he catches (Usman) and knocks him out, I just can’t see what he does differently.”

Edwards is baffled that Masvidal never agreed to fight

Leon Edwards says he strongly believed that him and Jorge Masvidal would fight sometime. “Rocky” last fought against Belal Muhammad last weekend in the main event. The bout ended in a “No contest” in round 2 after Leon eye poked Belal.

The fighter also spoke about his possible bout against Jorge Masvidal. “For sure, I thought ‘okay that’s the next fight,’ straight away, and to have it now be two, two and a half years and we still ain’t fought yet?” Edwards said in the podcast.
