Jorge Masvidal has been in the business for a long time so he understands why it’s done, but he doesn’t like trash talking. He has become a bonafide star in the UFC in the last year.
However, even though Jorge trash talked Kamaru all the time before their fight, Masvidal isn’t a fan of trash-talking to promote fights
Masvidal took the title fight against Usman on just six-day’ notice. In whatever little time that the two had, the champ and the challenger went back-and-forth on social media and during the interviews.
Jorge Masvidal finds the current method of promoting fights inappropriate. Combat sports are a bit different when it comes to promoting events. More than the clash of intriguing stylistic matches, it’s the fights that have with them a genuine sense of beef that do good PPV wise. Former champ Henry Cejudo explained it the best when he said that part of the game is being an entertainer as well.
As of now, the buzz is that UFC 251 did very good numbers-wise. Jorge Masvidal’s stock may have dipped but one can’t change the fact that he is one of the two fighters on the cover of EA UFC 4. Regardless of all the fame surrounding him, Masvidal still wishes for a change in how fighters promote the fights.
