“I don’t think he cares,” says Dominick Cruz about Dana White’s opinion on Henry Cejudo’s return

Henry Cejudo decided to hang his gloves from the Bantamweight division after defending his title. This caught everyone off-guard not being able to wrap their minds around why Henry would make this decision. It seemed weird because, over the last year, Henry was all into the game calling out former and current champions.

Even though there is still hope that Cejudo might return to the Octagon, his recent challenger, Dominick Cruz differs from that idea. “I don’t think so,“ Cruz told when Ariel Helwani asked him about the possible return of Henry Cejudo. Cruz believes Cejudo isn’t that interesting of a fighter. “He has this thing where he believes he’s worth millions and millions of dollars.”

“And I think that Dana (White) doesn’t care, so probably not. Because he wants a certain amount of money before he’ll come back and fight. And I don’t know if he’ll ever get that.” Dominick believes that Cejudo isn’t a fighter who can sell tickets and attract millions of viewers.

Dominick Cruz last fought in the UFC at UFC 249 against Henry Cejudo last May. Cruz lost to Henry via Knockout in the second round. “The Dominator” is set to fight  Casey Kenney at UFC 259 on March 7th.

“He doesn’t bring some sort of awe factor,” says Dominick on Henry Cejudo

Henry Cejudo and Dominick Cruz

Henry Cejudo is known as “The King of Cringe” as he calls himself that but Cruz believes that is a failed attempt at selling tickets. “You look at the rest of the division, Petr Yan and Aljamain Sterling, two top contenders that are fighting for the belt coming up. Those guys aren’t asking for that kind of money. They’re gonna bring a crazy fight to the table,” Cruz explained.

Cruz also stated that there was no good reason to bring back Henry Cejudo. “So why would you bring back a Cejudo who’s playing it safe on the sidelines? For what? He doesn’t bring any extra views. He doesn’t bring some sort of awe factor to these fights to where everybody can’t wait to tune in to watch him. They’re just laughing at him.

Cruz ended his statement by saying, “He’s cringy. He’s ‘Cringe Cejudo.’”Do you agree with Cruz or do you feel this is disrespectful to Cejudo’s name?
