Nate Diaz has revealed that, Conor McGregor being too aggressive against Dustin Poirier was one of the main reasons why the Irishman lost. Conor McGregor took on Dustin Poirier at UFC 257, in a rematch – almost 7 years in the making. The Notorious was the favourite going into the fight, but to everyone’s surprise he got annihilated in only the second round, as Dustin rained down a flurry of punches, handing Conor his first ever KO loss.

Speaking in an interview with Ariel Helwani of ESPN MMA, Nate Diaz provided his analysis on the Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier fight, especially pointing out to the areas where Conor messed up. He also had a few words to say about the leg kicks from Dustin, Conor failed to check.

‘The leg thing was a factor but come on, you were f**ked up the whole time’

Nate Diaz was quoted as saying, “I think he was pushing the pace too hard like he had it in the bag… He’s anxious for the kill because he wants out. He should have slowed it down a little bit. But he didn’t, he pushed the pace and got caught slipping. The leg thing was a factor but come on, you were f**ked up the whole time!”

Nate Diaz has hinted at a return to the octagon this year, and he has expressed his desire to take on Dustin Poirier or Charles Oliveira, in his comeback fight. He last fought, way back in November 2019, against Jorge Masvidal for the BMF title, which he eventually lost via. TKO (doctor stoppage). As for Conor McGregor, a trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier seems very much a possibility.
