Rishabh Pant has been India’s man of the moment following the famous series win against Australia in Australia. After being dropped from the limited overs squads as well as the first Test and being ridiculed for his shaky wicket-keeping, the 23-year-old came into his own and answered all critics and doubters with the bat to lead India to one of its most important series wins in history.

Pant first, almost took India to victory in the 3rd Test at SCG which was drawn by scoring a 97 in the fourth innings before actually doing it in the fourth Test at the Gabba where he remained unbeaten at 89 to see his side home by three wickets while chasing a big total of 328. He was rightly adjudged the Man of the Match for his scintillating display that saw even the mightiest pace bowling attack in the world at present, look clueless.

‘It’s difficult to block outside noise’ – Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant spoke to Sports Today today about how he dealt with pressure from outside and focused on his game. “I was feeling the heat each and every day, it’s part and parcel of the game. But as an individual, you need to believe in yourself. I was lucky that I had a few people around me who told me to keep believing in myself and just keep working hard,” said Pant.

“If you’re moving forward then you’re improving, this is what I’ve learnt during the tough phase. Focus so much on your game that you don’t notice anything else. It’s difficult also to block the outside noise because of social media, but I have segregated myself from it,” Pant concluded.
