‘The Black Beast’ Derrick Lewis is going to step inside the Octagon against Curtis Blaydes on UFC Vegas 19’s main event. A win in this fight brings next in the line for a title shot for one of them.
Lewis is one of the brutal Heavyweight fighters in the division and he is the fighter that can dismantle his opponent anytime inside the Octagon. This fight is finally happening after getting canceled due to COVID for the first time.
Speaking about this on media day before this fight Lewis says he doesn’t want Blaydes to go to the hospital this time because of COVID he wants him to go there because of him.
Lewis says, “I wanted to know why Blaydes pulled out, what happened, and if everything was going to be okay with him. I was just concerned. I didn’t want nothing really bad to happen to the guy.”
“I don’t like the guy, but I wouldn’t want him to go to the ICU or nothing like that because of COVID, I would only want him to go there cause of me. So I felt bad a little bit for him,”
Derrick Lewis wants to earn respect in the division
Lewis is ranked number 4th in the Heavyweight division and he holds a victory over fighters like Francis Ngannou and fought with Daniel Cormier and many other Heavyweight giants.
With a victory over Blaydes, he wants to earn respect in the division. Lewis added, “I’ve won three in a row and after I beat Curtis Blaydes I will finally have the respect I deserve. You beat the guy who makes the most noise then you got the noise behind you.”
