ICC in search of new ways to complete World Test Championship

Every sports related activity in the world is either cancelled or postponed at the moment, Sports clubs and Administrations are finding it difficult to find ways to complete the tournaments and championships which were scheduled to take palace during this period, so is the ICC. Reportedly, The International Cricket Council is finding new ways to complete The World Test Championship.

Some of the ICC Sources told ANI, “We are continuing planning for ICC events as they are but given the rapidly evolving situation as a prudent and responsible measure we are also undertaking a comprehensive business contingency planning exercise.”

“This includes exploring all options available to us based on a range of scenarios connected to the pandemic, No action has been taken till now”, sources added.

71 Test matches were scheduled to be played across 27 series over two years. Last year, the championship started on 1st August when Australia faced England. The top two teams in the points table would have got the place in final match at Lords.

Currently, in World Test Championship table, India holds the top place with 360 points, followed by Australia with 296 and New Zealand with 180 points. The next championship is scheduled to start from July 2021 to June 2023
