Incidentally Nick Kyrgios who is always in the news, has faced criticism from former cricketer Ian Healy too.  “They might be personal rivals, but if Kyrgios thinks he’s in a professional rivalry with Djokovic, he’s got another thing coming” Healy said. Healy stressed upon the fact that Kyrgios cannot finish a match when he is 2-0 up, how can he even talk about the tennis of Novak Djokovic. Healy believes that Kyrgios should improve his tennis skills first. Try that little harder, win that extra ball, and then go about talking Tennis with top tennis players.

Dominic Thiem ended what could have been a promising outing

Nick Kyrgios played some outstanding tennis in this year’s Australian Open.  Not only putting in consistent efforts  but also entertaining the crowd with some outrageous shotmaking. In the first round he defeated Frederico Ferreira Silva. He beat the Portuguese quite convincingly, in straight sets, 6-4 6-4 6-4. The second round match with 29th seed Frenchman Ugo Humbert was another matter though. In a match which went down to the wire Kyrgios won 5-7 6-4 3-6 7-6 6-4.

This set him up for a 3rd round meeting with Dominic Thiem. Thiem the 3rd seed was in terrific form and not too many people gave him a chance. But Kyrgios surprised many by taking a 2-0 set lead in the match. Although the match ended in defeat for Kyrgios, he wasn’t actually very far from winning it. Eventually though he lost to Thiem, 6-4 6-4 3-6 4-6 4-6.
