Post his epic five set win against Ugo Humbert 5-7 6-4 3-6 7-6 6-4, Nick Kyrgios was tired but in a good mood at the post match conference.

Kyrgios admits the 2nd round match was draining 

Nick Kyrgios mostly speaks from the heart and he did the same at the press meet. He admitted that the five setter was a tough match. And that he was drained physically and mentally. He joked that he could really do with a glass of wine. 

“I’m happy with just winning man. At this stage of my career—I feel old, I just want to have a glass of red wine after a match like that,” Kyrgios 

Thiem will be a very tough adversary in the third round 

Kyrgios also spoke about his third round opponent Dominic Thiem. Who he described as someone he had a lot of “respect” for. He said that  Thiem trains like an “animal” and plays a “physical” brand of tennis. Nick Kyrgios also said that he had followed Thiem’s progress right from his junior days, and was impressed by it.

Finally, Kyrgios admitted, “ I’m just hurting thinking about playing him.” 

Kyrgios and journos indulge in some banter 

Nick Kyrgios also indulged in some humor when he said that one of the journalists looked like Andy Murray. The journo was happy to share a laugh with him on the matter. 

“He looks like Andy Murray,” Kyrgios said. “I actually get that quite often,” the reporter said. “I’ve had someone mistake me for Jamie at a bar in New York.”
