India Pick Up 2 Gold, 1 Bronze in Team Events of World Archery Youth Championships 2021 with Scintillating Performance

The success for the Indian team continued at the World Archery Youth Championships in Poland, as the Indian recurve cadet teams picked up 2 gold and 1 bronze medal to their tally.

The World Archery Youth Championships 2021 are taking place in Wroclaw, Poland. India enjoyed success at the Championships, with 16 of the Indian teams making the medal matches over the last few days.

Yesterday the compound teams enjoyed particular success, with all the teams winning gold medals and individuals picking up 4 medals as well including 2 silver and 2 bronze.

Day 2 of the finals saw India enter in several more medal matches, as the team events were up first. The recurve Indian women cadet team were up in the bronze medal match against Germany, which would be a tough fight.

The Indian team comprising of Tamanna, Manjiri Alone and Avani, had a tough time on their hands, as there was constant tussle between both the teams, with the score being 53-50, 49-50, 52-52, 54-51. India prevailed however, taking the fourth set, and winning 5-3.

The Indian Men’s Cadet team of Vicky Ruhal, Amit Kumar and Bishal Changmai were up next, this time in the gold medal match. They were up against France, and India started strong, winning the first set 53-50. The Indians continued their strong performance despite losing a set and a last close shot arrow ensured India the gold medal.

The Indian Men’s team took the match 5-3, with scores of 53-50, 56-54, 55-57, 54-54.

World Archery Youth Championships: Indian Mixed Team Finishes Things off in Style

The final recurve cadet team event was the gold medal match for the mixed team. India once again made the appearance in fight for the gold, as Tamanna and Changmai looked to add to their medals from the previous competitions. They would go against Japan, who were tough competitors for the Indian team.

The duo won easily, finishing with 36-33, 32-34, 35-31, 35-34. The team took the gold medal 6-2, and India had once again taken medals in all team events.
