England have won the toss and elected to bat first. However, India have plans intact to tackle the visitors.

Team India announced the following changes for the day-night pink-ball Test being played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Experienced pacer Jasprit Bumrah replaced Mohammed Siraj.

Washington Sundar roped in place of Kuldeep Yadav as the former can offer both with the bat and the ball.

This is the first international match being played at the newly built venue in Ahmedabad. The stadium was renamed the  Narendra Modi Stadium from the Motera Stadium during the inaugural ceremony during the day.

Synopsis of the Test series till now

The visiting Team England rose to the occasion during the first Test in Chennai where they won against India by 227 runs. Skipper Joe Root’s double ton with the bat and the bowlers- Jofra Archer, Dom Bess and James Anderson performance was instrumental in England’s win.

Team India, however, pounced ferociously during the second clash in Chennai and won the match by 317 runs. Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane and Virat Kohli played some riveting knocks with the bat, while Axar Patel shone bright with the ball. The local boy Ravichandran Ashwin was imperative in getting India the win in the second match, who not only scored a century but also scalped eight wickets.

The series now stands levelled 1-1, and all the eyes are now in Ahmedabad, the venue for the third and the fourth Test matches.
