Sourav Ganguly confirmed India’s first stint of 2021 against England

BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has confirmed India’s first stint of 2021 against England will be in February.

This will be India’s first series at home for more than a year. The last one took place in January this year when the team played a three-match ODI series against Australia.

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Sourav Ganguly said that India will begin hosting tournaments next year and the ODI World Cup in 2023.

Ganguly has also said that the BCCI is doing it’s best to resume domestic cricket as possible this year.

“The senior Indian men’s team will travel to Australia in December this year and will come back to the country for a series against England starting from February next year. This will be followed by IPL 2021 in April,” he wrote in letter.

“In the domestic cricket context, we are currently in the offseason and the BCCI is making all efforts to ensure that domestic cricket resumes as and when the conditions permit.”

“We are hopeful that the Covid-19 situation will improve over the next few months and we will be able to start domestic cricket in a safe and healthy environment,” added Sourav Ganguly in his letter.

Currently, BCCI is all set for this year’s IPL which will begin from September 19 to November 10 in UAE. Following the IPL, team India will emigrate to Australia for upcoming four-match Test series.
