India vs Australia: “He could not stand up straight” – Wife Prithi reveals Ravichandran Ashwin was in incredible pain before Day 5
Ravichandran Ashwin and Hanuma Vihari

Ravichandran Ashwin and Hanuma Vihari scripted an assured ‘blockathon’ to take India to safety and secure a draw against Australia on Day 5 of the third Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The two had come in after India lost Rishabh Pant and Cheteshwar Pujara after the two had scored half-centuries. With them, hopes of an India win were dashed as well.

Just when it looked like Australia would run away with the game, Ashwin and Vihari showed exemplary character to defend each and every ball bowled at them. The two batted for more than 3 hours and emerged unscathed at the end. Their grit ensured the series stayed level at 1-1 with one more Test to go.

Prithi reveals husband Ashwin’s struggles

Ravichandran Ashwin’s wife Prithi who is with the cricketer in Australia took to Twitter after the match to talk about how the spinner struggled the previous day with a sore back. She said, “The man went to bed last night with a terrible back tweak and in unbelievable pain. He could not stand up straight when he woke up this morning. Could not bend down to tie his shoe laces. I am amazed at what @ashwinravi99 pulled off today.”

She then added a cheeky Tweet saying, “Who will help me pack now” with a crying emoji. Her husband Ashwin replied to her Tweet saying, “Instant tears. Thanks for being there with me through all this.”
