The Test series between India and Australia has been a rollercoaster ride with every new day coming up with its own twist and turn. The two sides are currently locking horns for the third Test in Sydney. One of the key highlights of the 2nd day was Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja‘s sensational direct hit run-out of Australian batter Steve Smith. And former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer has found the apt dialogue to describe it from ‘Bajirao Mastani’.
Jadeja came out as the star performer as India made a solid comeback on day 2. He picked up 4 wickets and aided in dismissing Smith which was by far the biggest contribution of the innings. Smith, who had a rocky start to the Test series, seemed to be in excellent form in Sydney. He smashed a century and took Australia beyond the 300-run mark for the first time in the series.
With the score on 337, Smith attempted to take a double after he got an inside edge to a Jasprit Bumrah delivery. The hit went towards deep square leg. Ravindra Jadeja is arguably the best outfielder in the world. He proved his mettle yet again as he ran in and hit the stumps directly with a one handed pick-up and throw.
Smith’s wicket was a crucial boost to the visitors and Jadeja rightfully celebrated the wicket in style. The incredible piece of fielding had appreciation pour in from commentators, fans and Indian cricketers. It became an instant hit on social media.
‘Cheete ki chaal, baaz ki nazar aur Ravindra Jadeja ke throw par sandeh nahi karte”
Former Indian Test opener Wasim Jaffer is well and truly becoming a cult figure on social media with his rib-tickling tweets. The domestic cricket legend managed to make his fans laugh yet again with his dramatic and rather apt description of Jadeja’s fielding excellence.
Wasim Jaffer tweeted a dialogue from the Hindi movie ‘Bajirao Mastani’. He wrote”Cheete ki chaal, baaz ki nazar aur @imjadeja ke throw par sandeh nahi karte,” along with Jadeja’s video. The caption can be translated as “Never doubt a leopard’s movement, a hawk’s eye and @iamjadeja’s throw,“.
The third Test between India and Australia is of crucial importance as the four-match series is currently at a locked at 1-1.
