As India came down to bat after the Australian innings on Day 2 of the third Test match in Sydney, Australian players continued their age-old-sledging, something that has been commonly seen during India’s tour to Australia.
Indian openers walked down the pitch after Australia were all-out for 338. Australia managed a fair total following some fine innings by Australian batsmen- Will Pucovski, Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith.
Indian openers- Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill were off to a good start, unlike the Australian openers. Unable to digest this, Australian player Marnus Labuschagne engaged in sledging to distract the Indian players. He constantly diverted their minds by asking them questions, while Labuschagne was fielding at ‘forward short leg.’
Labuschagne had played fine innings for Australia where he smashed 91 runs that included 11 fours. He was caught at the first slip by Ajinkya Rahane on Ravindra Jadeja spin bowling. During his innings, he made a 100-run partnership each with Will Pucovski and Steve Smith.
