The third Test between India and Australia began on Thursday in Sydney and ace Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah caused a few laughs in the Indian camp on the first day as he hilariously imitated Australian batter Steve Smith.
Australia won the toss and chose to bat and after opener Will Pucovski was dismissed, ace Australian batsman, Steve Smith came to the forefront. He had not had a great series thus far having scored just 10 runs till the Sydney Test. However, the 31-year old batted with intent and looked to counterattack since the first ball on Thursday.
He played an aggressive brand of cricket attacking star Indian bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin right from the word ‘go’.
Jasprit Bumrah imitates Steve Smith
Steve Smith is known for his weird mannerisms on the crease. He shuffles across the stumps a lot and adjusts his box. Previously bowler Ishant Sharma had imitated the batting maestro during a Test match back in 2017.
Now during the third session of the first day of the Sydney Test, ace fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah hilariously imitated Steve Smith. When Bumrah was returning to his run-up, he was seen shaking his shoulders in a funny way and mimicking Smith’s actions. Indian bowler Mohammed Siraj patted him on the back with a laugh at his funny imitation.
The Test series is currently at a stalemate of 1-1. The third Test will play a crucial role in the four-match series. At the end of day’s play, Australian batsmen Marnus Labuschagne (67) and Steve Smith (31) were at the crease.
