
India’s senior player Cheteshwar Pujara has been absent from the field on Day 2 of the ongoing Test against England in Chennai. During India’s first innings, the batsman got hit on his right hand and continued playing that has aggravated the problem to a hand injury.
The senior player picked up the injury during third delivery of the sixth over on Day 1 when Olly Stone’s delivery hit straight back into Pujara’s right hand. Though, he managed to prevent his dismissal on the same but received an injury on his hand and continued his innings after receiving medical attention.

“Cheteshwar Pujara was hit on his right hand while batting on Day 1 of the second @Paytm Test against England at Chepauk. He felt some pain later. He will not be fielding today,” BCCI tweeted to share an update on Pujara.
The incidence of Pujara’s absence came to light when England walked down for their first innings in Chennai after bundling India for 329 during the first session of Day 2.
