England wicketkeeper Jos Buttler is set to miss the last three games of the four Test-match series against India. Buttler will only feature for England’s side in the first Test in Chennai starting from February 5, post which he will be replaced Ben Foakes.
Abiding by England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) policy which says all the multi-format players will be provided rest at some point during post-Christmas winter schedule, Buttler will travel back home. With such approach, ECB aims to protect their best players during a year when they will play 17 Tests and contest a Twenty20 World Cup while dealing with the mental challenges of living in bio-secure bubbles for weeks on end.
Ben Foakes will play in Buttler’s place
So, Ben Foakes will feature as a wicketkeeper in Jos Buttler’s absence in the last three Test matches.
