India vs England 2021: Michael Vaughan takes a dig at India for not gifting Joe Root a signed jersey; Indian fans retort

Former England captain Michael Vaughan took a dig at India after their loss against England in the first Test match in Chennai. By means of a tweet, he brought to attention the fact that England skipper Joe Root was not gifted a signed jersey from India on the occasion of his 100th Test but Australian spinner Nathan Lyon was during India’s tour of Australia, following India’s win in the same.

The Ajinkya Rahane-led India team had gifted an Indian jersey signed by all Indian players to Nathan Lyon after the Gabba Test that India won. Therefore, a similar gesture was expected when Joe Root played his 100th Test in Chennai. However, when the same didn’t transpire, Vaughan brought it to Twitter’s attention and his feed was very soon flooded with retorts from the Indian fans. Here are some of the responses to his tweet.
