Indian and England Teams have cleared all the Covid Tests scheduled ahead of the commencement of the series. The squads have returned three negative tests for COVID-19 during their six-day quarantine. The players can now hit for the training sessions to prepare themselves for the series.
“The Indian Cricket Team completed their quarantine period today in Chennai. Three RT-PCR tests for Covid-19 were conducted at regular intervals and all tests have returned negative. Team will have first outdoor session today from 5:00 PM and nets sessions from tomorrow,” a BCCI release stated on Monday.
Even the visitors cleared all the Covid Tests and are all set to hit the training grounds.
Players will now start training
“All PCR tests from yesterday’s test have returned negative results. The England party are now out of quarantine and will train for the first time as a full group at the stadium tomorrow afternoon 2pm-5pm (IST),” read an update from the England and Wales Cricket Board spokesperson.
Three of England players- Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer and Rory Burns resumed their training earlier as the trio did not travel with the team to Sri Lanka for an earlier assignment.
All the players had earlier undergone a six-day-mandatory quarantine at the Leela Palace Hotel as and when they touched Chennai.
India and England are scheduled to lock horns in the first Test match, starting from February 5 in Chennai.
