India vs England 2021: Ravindra Jadeja ruled out of Test series; KL Rahul to be available from third Test

According to reports from Cricbuzz, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja won’t play a part in the ongoing Test series against England as he hasn’t recovered yet from the injury he suffered in the tour of Australia. Meanwhile, KL Rahul who also suffered an injury during the same tour while batting at the nets is expected to be fit in time for the third Test.

Other players who suffered injuries during the tour, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami and Hanuma Vihari haven’t had much developments on their fitness status and it is hence, expected that they won’t play a part in the final two Tests as well. Further, it has been understood by Cricbuzz that T Natarajan has been relieved off his commitments with the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association on the advice of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to keep him fresh.

BCCI wants T Natarajan to stay ‘ready’

Kasi Viswanathan of TNCA spoke to Cricbuzz about BCCI wanting T Natarajan to be released and said, “That is what we have heard. We have not got a request in writing but we understand that the team management wants him to get ready by practising at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore. The secretary is looking into it. The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) will take the right decision.”

Further, the secretary of TNCA, S Ramaswamy also spoke about the same to Cricbuzz saying, “The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the team management want him fresh. It is in the national interest and so we are ready to oblige. We had named a replacement should he be not available and that issue has been sorted out. We have released Natarajan.”
