England sealed the victory in the first Test against India by 227 runs. While Dom Bess and Jofra Archer did the trick for England in the first innings, Jack Leach and James Anderson paved way for England’s win with their bowling during the second innings.

In India’s first innings, Pant played a smashing knock of 91 runs off 88 balls. He spared no England bowler and hit nine fours and five sixes.

“Thought he (Pant) was playing in the IPL. It’s a challenge that comes for a spinner. Was a tough evening that one but boys helped me stay strong,” Jack Leach said after the win in Chennai.

“My first time in India. They have a great batting line-up and I knew the pressure that comes with it. Happy to take some wickets and get the boys over the line,” he said on Tuesday.

England lifted the Moose Trophy and defeated Sri Lanka 2-0 on their some soil. Leach talked of the same, “Had a long time without any cricket (before the Sri Lanka series). It was about bowling those long overs in the heat.”
