Day 5 of the first Test between India and England in Chennai went firmly in favor of the visitors as they bowled out India for a paltry score of 192. Even amidst the fierce competition on the field, there were some funny moments that stood out. One such moment was English all-rounder Ben Stokes’ reaction on seeing India’s no. 11 batsman Jasprit Bumrah hit a four off his very first ball.
Stokes was also in the forefront of England’s efforts as he dismissed skipper Virat Kohli who was going well at 72. He bowled a length delivery which due to the nature of the pitch stayed low and dislodged the stumps. Stokes then reacted with an animated celebration. With the win, England have gone 1-0 up in the four-match series, needing two more to qualify for the final of the World Test Championship. India on the other hand need to win the series to qualify for the same.

In the second session of the fifth day, England needed just one more wicket to win when Jasprit Bumrah came in to bat. Off the very first ball he faced which was bowled by Jack Leach, the fast-bowler came down the track and went for a wild swing towards mid-wicket. The ball went for a four and Bumrah had a smile on his face as did Ben Stokes who was seen applauding the shot.
The second Test between India and England is scheduled to be held in the same venue, Chennai from February 13 onwards. There will then be two more Tests in Ahmedabad with the first being a day/night test.
