Chahal is a fine right-arm leg-spinner, who made his debut at the age of 19 in an away game against Madhya Pradesh at Indore. He has been impressive in the shortest format and it also earned him an IPL contract with Mumbai Indians in 2011. But the Mumbai franchise did not give him many matches and so he went into the auction pool for the 2014 IPL.

And next, we know, he was picked up by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), for whom he played an integral part in their bowling set up. It was with RCB, that he found the bulk of his success.

Chahal has so far played 52 ODIs and 42 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). Along with cricket, he has also represented India internationally in Chess at youth levels. He plays for Haryana on the domestic level.

The last time the 30-year-old was seen playing was at the ODI series between India and New Zealand in February this year, where he played for his national squad. Next, the spinner will play for RCB in IPL 2020. The event is all set to take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 19 to November 10.
