Inter beat Napoli 2-0 to reclaim second place in Serie A ahead of the final matchday. Inter have won their 23rd league game of the season.
Danilo D’Ambrosio gave Inter the lead in the 11th minute through their first shot. Antonio Candreva’s right-footed cross found Cristiano Biraghi who pulled it back to unmarked D’Ambrosio who netted it past Napoli keeper Alex Meret.
Napoli produced plenty of opportunities, with Piotr Zeilinski almost equalised before half-time but failed to find the target. However, in the 74th it was Inter who doubled their advantage.
Lautaro Martinez scored sensational solo-goal with just 14 minutes being introduced. Martinez dribbled the ball forward before finally curled it in away from Meret into the bottom-right corner to seal the game.
Inter have already guaranteed a top four finish and a place in the Champions League next season.
Antonio Conte’s side sit tight at 79 points with their final game still left to play against Atalanta. While Inter rivals, Napoli would now be focusing on their Champions League Round of 16 fixture. The Coppa Italia winner will play against Barcelona after drawing 1-1 in the first leg on 8th August.
