IPL 2020: A night to forget for Sunrisers Hyderabad as two of their overseas players suffer injuries

The much-anticipated clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) did not go the way the hyderabad-based team would have thought. Not only they found themselves on the losing side, their overseas stalwarts ended up suffering major injuries during the match.
Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh twisted his ankle in the first over itself following which he had to leave the field. In the second half, he came back to bat when SRH was tottering at nine wickets. Marsh seemed to have worsened his injury as he was seen limping and jumping at the crease.
Rashid Khan too suffers nasty injury after collision with his own teammate
Following Marsh’s injury in the first innings of the match, Rashid Khan too suffered a mid-pitch collision with his own teammate Abhishek Sharma while running between the wickets.

The incident occurred in the last ball of the 16th over by Shivam Dube. After completing one run, Rashid and Sharma went for the second and collided with each other.
In another incident in the first innings, Marsh twisted his ankle after bowling his delivery. He visibly looked in pain, and had to leave the field but came back later to upturn SRH’s fortunes with the bat. But the move only seemed to have worsend his injury and it remains to be seen whether he will play for the Hyderabadi side again in the tournament.

The tournament has only begun and as many as three players have sustained serious injuries. Delhi Capitals’ R Ashwin too suffered a shoulder injury while trying to save a run in the match against Kings XI Punjab.
The former Punjab captain was seen wearing a sling later on. However, the Dehi Capitals management have confirmed that Ashwin will be available for the rest of the tournament.
